Dasahara, Dusshera, Dasara, Dussehra or Dashain are the different ways to call ‘Vijayadashami’. If not wrong one of the most favored festivals in Indian and celebrated all over in India.

Significant values of Vijayadashmi
  • बुराई पर अच्छाई की जीत (victory of good over evil)
    • Demon Ravana was killed on this day. Raam who was known for setting the standard of humanity killed Ravana after a 10 days long battle and released wife Sita from his custody.
Ravana was a scholar, very well known for his spiritual powers and admired Lord Shiva, however when he gained different powers then his I (Ego) got established inside his soul and turned as an Evil person, finally his all wrongdoing lead to his death by hands of Lord Rama.
  • अधर्म पर धर्म की जीत (Victory of religion over wrongdoing)
    • Vijayadashami marks the end of Durga Puja, remembering goddess Durga’s victory over the buffalo demon Mahishasura to restore and protect dharma.
    • On Vijayadashami, Pandavs won the battle of Mahabharat, which was lasted for 18 days.
  • एक नई शुरुआत (a new beginning)
    • This day is also known as the new beginning schooling life for the kids aged 3–4 years.

Besides the mythological or spiritual aspect of Vijayadashmi, it has a long tale to improve qualities of your own wisdom, let’s pray and try to implement this from today onward to remove all bad qualities within us…

  • अहंकार (Ego)
  • क्रूरता (Cruelty)
  • अन्याय (Injustice)
  • काम-वासना (Lust)
  • क्रोध (Anger)
